The Model United Nations (MUN) club at UC Davis is a speech and debate club centered around diplomacy, which simulates the real United Nations and its various committees. Undergraduates have the opportunity to role-play a United Nations delegate and debate various international topics such as economics, international security, and the environment. The Davis MUN club attends various conferences throughout the year, traveling to places such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Montreal, and New York. The club also hosts its own collegiate conference, where members can gain behind the scenes experience by becoming chairs, delegates or a part of the secretariat. Every May, the UC Davis MUN hosts a high school conference on campus to help hone members' skills, fundraise, and showcase the campus and program to the youth of California.
Model United Nations is more than just a speech and debate club, it is a place where members can gain real life experience by acting as diplomats and improving their problem solving and speech skill. MUN is always open to new members that are ready to learn about the wold.
