Hello MUNUCD!
Let me be among the many that proudly welcome you to Model United Nations at the University of California, Davis! I am Jessica Midden, the Under-Secretary General of Public Relations, and I have the pleasure of working with all of you to prepare you for exciting and educational MUN conferences. I have been a highly active and enthusiastic member of Model United Nations since my freshman year of high school and I am excited to continue my sixth year in MUN here at Davis. There is always something to learn about being a delegate and we are all here to enhance your knowledge of world events, controversies, and conflicts.
I will be your guide to the ins and outs of participating in MUNUCD. Feel free to read over the delegate tips on the other pages of this website. You may even wish to bring some of these materials to conferences to help you in the midst of debate.
Being a delegate is a very rewarding and fulfilling journey that very few people get the opportunity to experience. You have the chance to represent a nation, to discuss issues that are really on the world agenda. Nothing can put world policy in perspective quite like MUN can. You have the opportunity to be a part of it!
Not only do you receive the opportunity to participate in conferences as a delegate, but UC Davis hosts a conference every year titled DMUNC where you can then participate in MUN on an entirely different level; as a chair who runs committee. Being a part of MUNUCD will allow you to gain all of the skills necessary to participate in MUN on very different and equally fun levels without any prior knowledge as to what MUN is.
We are all excited to have you be a part of our MUN team. At Davis MUN, we're not just delegates and internationally interested people, we're a family and we're here to help you along the way.
